How does the Internet work with marketing anyways? I’m sure that if you asked this question to fifty people you would get fifty different answers.
There are thousands of people giving your their opinions on how to make the net work for you and to tell you the truth ninety percent of these suggestions are pure garbage. Now a days people are so impatient. It appears that most think that if you put up a few post with an affiliate link that they will instantly become rich. There is so much junk on the net it is truly hard to get passed all the noise to the source of the truth that you seek.
In the past 6 months the use of web 2.0 sites has been identified as a way to get to the top results in the search engines so that your content is found easily. While this is true to some extent, it is very apparent that the top SERP’s are now littered with more junk than ever. Everyone appears to be an expert.
Browsing through the 30DC forums it is becoming increasingly obvious that a lot of the people working on the challenge think that spamming web 2.0 services will get them to their golden nugget. Well, all I can say is good luck to these folks. Most of them will simply have their accounts banned at these sites.
So, how does the Internet work? Well, I guess that depends on your perspective. If your a common user of the net and you want to find out how to become a fiber splicer or want to know where to get the training, using the net to find that information is a great resource. Let’s say you just want to find out how to stop your dog from barking, again the Internet is a good place to find the answer but now let me ask you, would you pay for this information? I seriously doubt you would.
The problem I see with Internet marketing is no one is original. Everyone is pushing the same junk. Things like dog training, yeast infections, tattoos, how to make money online and how to make friends on Myspace just to name a few. It appears that no-one can be original, rather they are simply copying what others are doing. I find it hard to believe that there are 2 million experts on dog training.
So, how are you approaching marketing on the Internet? As an expert in your field or a jack of all trades?
