I ran across a web site that is very similar to Craigslist. The name of the site is called Kijiji. The word “kijiji” (pronounced like key-gee-gee) means “village” in Swahili. Basically Kijiji allows people in the same city to meet, trade, share ideas, and help each other out in areas such as goods, cars, services, housing, jobs, and personals.

Kijiji, like Craigslist, allows users to find or post listings based on location. So you??

If you follow this blog you know that I try to focus on finding new web 2.0 services that will help you get traffic to you web site but, I’ve also decided to add a little something to the content. Something that can help anyone trying to make money on the Internet.

My earlier post pointed out the pre-season launch of the 2007 Thirty Day Challenge. The official program kicks off in August and the challenge is to make 10 dollars in thirty days without spending a penny of your own money. Mind you this is not a huge amount and can be easily surpassed.

Tag - Your It

In my endeavors across the net to find great social site that you can use to promote yourself I see many users that do not use tags properly. Normally I see only a handful of tags that a user has placed to describe the content the he or she is trying to get noticed.

For those of you who don’t know what tags are, basically they are keywords and phrases that best describe the content you are publishing. Tags are a way of teaching the web how to categories your information and if used correctly will accurately help in describing your website content.

I spent the better part of my life working for ATC/TimeWarner, starting in 1981, constructing and activating fiber and coaxial plant. Over time I gained the knowledge that was required to do the J.O.B efficiently, cost effective and usually ahead of schedule. I was passionate about it, I lost sleep, I sacrificed family by being away- all for the pride of accomplishment of building the networks that would be used in the future (today).

In `97 I started out on my own business providing technical services in the fiber optic networks that were being constructed around the country. I hired people, trained them with the knowledge that I had acquired over the years and we all succeeded. There is some pretty good bucks in fiber optics.

According to Pew Internet & American Life Project report ??? 8% of American adults constitute the most active participants in the information society, consuming information goods and services at a high rate and using them as a platform for participation and self expression???.

In this survey, groups have been clustered according to their technology assets
(information and communication appliances they use), their actions, (how they use it), and their attitudes about ICTs (how they feel about information and communication technology).
Out of all groups profiled in this report, I have chosen to cover the hard core group which the Pew Internet named ???Omnivores??? (check out Cyberspace Shapers Questioner). This group is the?

The question of social networks and what good they are to your business or site has been creeping around for awhile. Many people absolutely hate the idea of using social networking sites, for what reasons I do not know. It maybe that they are introvert and do not know how to socialize or maybe its the fact that when they hear social networking they think MySpace right away. Filled with kids!. What good is that to me?

Well, these people might be missing the point. Although places like Friendster, Face Book and MySpace are for the younger generation there are many businesses and professional using these sites with great success.

Although I started this blog to share what I am learning with others about using web 2.0 services to market yourself or business, today I am going to express my jubilation of a report that John Reese released called “The Rebirth Of Internet Marketing”, which in my opinion is a great document!

Now John needs no introduction as he is a well know Internet marketer, but if you have no clue who he is don’t take my word for it, get his report, read it and make your own decisions on whether he is someone you should give a listen to. He has owned over 35,000 domain names, built sites in over 1,200 different niche markets, and has had success utilizing 14 different business models for the Internet, I think anyone can really benefit from a few things that he is sharing.

A recent Forrester survey showed that only nine percent of online adults have ever paid to download a movie or TV show. Furthermore, an analysis of these consumers showed they are a niche of ???media junkies??? willing to spend heavily on such content, thus, they do not represent the mainstream consumers. Without mainstream viewers, the video download market will not grow fast enough to support the ambitions of all the companies involved (in the past year, companies such as Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, and Wal-Mart have begun offering consumers the ability to download television programs and movies to own or rent).
