Slideshow is a javascript class to stream and animate the presentation of images on your website. Slideshow was originally written as a plugin for the Textpattern CMS in 2006, using the original Moo.fx javascript library. This new version has been re-written from the ground-up for Mootools, incorporating many developments and feature requests over the past year. Scriptaculous is one of many great new JavaScript libraries created to answer the call for well written ‘Web 2.0′ JavaScript libraries. Written by Thomas Fuchs, scriptaculous has many features that can be used in AJAX-ified applications, drag-and-drop effects, and a whole slew of visual effects.

The drag-and-drop effects, most notably the sortables, caught my eye because the look great, they are so easy to implement, and they’re just so much nicer than the standard listbox with up/down arrows that we see in most of today’s applications and administration tools.

Images in this article utilize the newest, third version of a pure-CSS image zooming technique I’ve named “Photo-caption Zoom” ( or PZ3 ).?????? When you move your mouse over an image, it will ‘zoom’ to reveal a larger image with a caption.?????? There are a variety of pure-CSS image zooming methods, but this was the first to combine an image with a caption.?????? It saves page real estate, it looks nice and this third version is more robust and easier to use than ever.

What is CoolTips?

CoolTips is a lightweight unobtrusive JavaScript web-browser tooltips replacement technique.

CoolTips is used to replace conventional web-browser tooltips. The tooltips get contents of title attribute, so it’s fully unobtrusive. CoolTips is an OO class based on Prototype JS and script.aculo.us frameworks.
